A fully a cappella piece of the sounds of the street of New York City.
The blaring sound of the subway, the underground buskers, sirens, passing cars, tourists, constructions, rhythmical chattering are all part of the Rhythm of the City. Like a heartbeat. It pulses and it breathes. As a true New Yorker, I've been inspired for a very long time to turn all these sounds into a composition.
My plan is to fuse the cacophony of noises with traditional choral musical elements. Tights harmonies, interesting harmonic shifts in an unconventional setting.
Stylistically, I'd like to apply some gospel, some underground indie music, hip-hop, "Aziza scats" and some r'n'b elements as well.
Actual words and fragments of conversations from the streets.
