Description

***PLEASE EMAIL ME IF YOU'D LIKE TO JOIN THE CONSORTIUM BUT ARE UNABLE TO HERE ON THIS SITE** chris (at) christeichler (dot) com For SATB and piano, this new anthem will be a celebratory piece for Easter Sunday. This could function as a suitable opener or closer for Easter services. While featuring 4-part writing in spots, the majority of the choral voicing will be 2 part, or even unison. This will make it easier to learn, but no less enjoyable to sing. Consortium members will receive regular email and video updates on the compositional process and progress. In addition, church/school and director names will be listed in the finished score. I hope you'll join us in bringing this new Easter anthem into the world! Thank you!

Lyrics

Day of wonder, day of gladness,
Hail thy ever glorious light!
Gone is sorrow, gone is sadness,
Ended is the gloomy night.
Listen to the angel's story,
Cast away all fear and dread;
Give to God the Father glory!
Christ is risen from the dead!

In the triumph of this hour,
Jubilant shall swell the song;
Unto Jesus, honor, power,
Blessing, victory belong.
Scattered are the clouds of error,
Sin and hell are captive led:
E'en the grave is free from terror,
Christ is risen from the dead!

Every people, every nation
Soon shall hear the gladsome sound;
Joyous tidings of salvation,
Borne to earth's remotest bound.
Then shall rise, in tones excelling,
Praise for grace so freely shed,
And the Easter hymn be swelling,
Christ is risen from the dead!

- Benjamin Homer Hall (1830 - 1893)

About R. Christopher Teichler

Hello! I write music that I hope will engage with a broad range of listeners. I've written works for everything ranging from middle school band through professional symphony. I've written more choral music than for any other genre, for church choirs as well as college/university ensembles. My music is mostly self-published, but I also have works available from Alfred, Kjos, Lorenz, BRS Music and Pelican Music. Something I pride myself on is that while I am a musical artist, I'm also a regular guy. I will happily discuss classical music one minute and baseball/football the next! For more info on me and my music, you can visit my website: christeichler (dot) com. Thanks!
