James W. Knox is a Professor of Music at Central Oregon and also a premiere Northwest Composer. Living in England and other parts of Europe, James, has an extensive background in choral conducting and choral composition. His music has been performed locally in the United States of America, Canada, Chile, Argentina, Africa, Iceland, England, Germany and Italy. His most recent commissions was for the Children Chorus of the Aalto Opera House in Essen, Germany, Sing We Noel for Mastersingers in Central Oregon. This year’s ACDA Northwest Convention, James was featured as the Northwest Composer, and was featured as the choral composer at the prestigious TUTTI Festival held at Denison University. His compositions offer a unique style ranging from standard choral pieces to major choral works. The majority of his must is thematic, cinematic and epic. Some of his major works are Jack and his Fortune, The Elves and the Shoemaker, Asgard & Niflheim, Song of Amergin, Radicitus Missam, Blue Men of Minch and most currently The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
